The Media

Former President Donald Trump is currently in civil trial regarding fraud. Here is what the news is saying. AP News has a left leaning bias according to AllSides. According to Fox News, Trump did not like how his family was being portrayed. Fox News has a right leaning bias according to AllSides.

Discussion

I think most people are looking forward to the criminal trials instead of this one. Donald Trump had been in many lawsuits before he became a president. Prior to the 2016 election, people would have known about this if they researched him. Personally, I do not think this will affect his poll numbers.

  3. Hi Emily,
I appreciate your interesting blog post. So far, so good; surveys have consistently shown that Mr. Trump is the preferred candidate among a majority of Republican voters since his first arrest and subsequent court appearance. Even after three indictments and the potential of a fourth, the average opinion polls have increased. Some others believe that the indictments are politically motivated to eliminate Mr. Trump from the presidential race in 2024. However, I believe that his poll numbers will drop due to these criminal prosecutions. They are likely to decrease as more people begin to feel Trump is guilty of the charges. According to one recent study, 25% of Republicans already favor the prosecution and believe Trump should be imprisoned. Therefore, there is a possibility that his campaign will be affected by the ongoing criminal investigations.
